Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada have debuted their first co-designed collection for Prada Womenswear S/S 2021. Big Art
We visited the exhibition Big Art in Amsterdam, initiated by curator Anna van Der Zwaag. The scale and open space of the exhibition felt liberating. There was a sense of freedom in the large artworks. A colourful landscape, that sparked your imagination but also led to more serious reflection, making you not think about the artist but rather looking at yourself and drawing from your own internal thoughts. How AI could revolutionise streetwear
A Toronto based design firm, called stitch, created an AI robot-designer, that can design streetwear collections, in collaborations with other creatives. StichAI learns the personal design ethos by using engineered empathy and semantic analysis fed by the person’s provided photo’s, music or text to build streetwear collections around. See more here
3D Visuals
The facade of the Taikoo Li shopping mall in Chengdu, China, has a large screen curved at a 90-degree angle. In addition to advertising, special videos with a 3D dimension are shown on it. See here
Stillness is the Key
The Zen Buddhists described it as inner peace, the Stoics called it ataraxia and Ryan Holiday calls it stillness: the ability to be steady, focused and calm in a constantly busy world. This quality is urgently necessary today, stillness is not just inactivity, but self-mastery, discipline and focus necessary to succeed in today’s noisy world. More here
