Milan Design Week 2019 recommendations
The number of interesting exhibitions for the Milan Design Week 2019 can be overwhelming. Here are the six must see exhibitions that we won’t miss.
Alcova
The curators define Alcova a “prototype of a traveling cultural institution” in development. It shows experimental projects selected by the curators Space Caviar and Studio Vedèt. In an abandoned panettone factory they bring together designers to explore themes including contemporary living, design culture and materials and technological innovations.
Alcova, Via Popoli Uniti 11-13, Milan
Breeze of light/ Nendo × DAIKIN
The exhibition Breeze of light is themed on air itself. Air is intrinsically invisible but that shapeless state is visualized through design, and in doing so people experience a new feeling of air. The installation is placed in a large space where flower-shaped polarizing films suggest the movement of a comfortable breeze with only light and shadows.
Tenoha Milano, Via Vigevano, 18, 20144 Milan
Affinity in Autonomy/ Sony
In a rapidly transforming technological landscape, Sony is developing a vision for robotics that will enrich people’s lives and society. Its 2019 exhibition is entitled ‘Affinity in Autonomy: Envisioning the relationship between humans and robotics’. Through the exhibition visitors will experience the future of robotics evolving with emotion and a feeling of vitality.
Spazio Zegna, Via Savona, 56/A, Milan
